Elastomer Mounts / Isolators / Series SSTN
Solve problems with structure-borne noise isolation
Elastomer Mounts / Isolators / Series SSTN
Our high-quality elastomer mounts are reliable problem solvers wherever there may be problems with structure-borne noise isolation. With our elastomer mounts, you can achieve optimum bearing support for noise generators for load ranges from approx. 20 kg to 2,500 kg.
Rubber Mounts or Elastomer Mounts are available in various shapes and sizes, a range of rubber SHORE- hardness: 25, 36, 45, 55, 65, etc. The Sebert Elastomer Mounts have been specially developed for optimal isolation of noise transmission, vibrations and shocks for the high-end market. A variety of acoustic tests have proven the excellent performance of our Elastomer Mounts and they have important advantages over Wire Rope Mounts and Leaf Spring Mounts when it comes to noise transmission.
We manufacture customized elastomer mounts for you based on your specific requirements. Our successful solution concept to produce isolators is based on our three-step model:
- Analysis of the requirements
- Simulation and calculation
- Customized production
Series SSTN 9140, SSTN 9141, SSTN 9142
We supply high-quality elastomer mounts for load ranges from approx. 20 kg to 2,500 kg with a high level of ozone protection. All metal parts are galvanized, the mounts can withstand high mechanical loads and offer high dynamic deflection in all three axes.
Series SSTN 9144
Our elastomer mounts of the SSTN 9144 series are elastic on all sides and have almost the same stiffness in the three axes. They are particularly suitable for vibration isolation, shock absorption and structure-borne noise isolation of devices in vehicles, ships, aircraft and for stationary installation.
Series SSTN 9149
The elastomer mounts in the SSTN 9149 series have a tear-resistant design, are corrosion-resistant and elastic on all sides. The products are suitable for compressive, tensile and shear loads. Areas of application include vibration isolation, shock absorption and structure-borne noise isolation of equipment in vehicles, ships and aircraft as well as stationary installation.
Series SSTN 9160
The elastomer mounts in the SSTN 9160 series are high-quality elastomer dampers with high mechanical strength and a high level of ozone protection. All metal parts of these products are galvanized. High dynamic deflection in all three axes is guaranteed.
If we know more about the requirements of your application, such as weight, position of the center of gravity, drawing, shock and vibration load and the fragility of your device, we can work with you to select the optimum product for you.
Benefit Sebert
The Sebert Rubber Mounts are mainly made of natural rubber, which has a high fatigue resistance, shows little permanent deformation and is reasonably temperature resistant.
By making use of the correct suspension set up with Rubber Mounts, the emitted noise level is reduced by 10 to 20dB. As a result, the airborne noise level in low frequency (approx. 100Hz) is 10dB lower, for high frequency (approx. 500Hz or more) 25-40dB lower or even more depending on the construction.
The rubber can be loaded in all directions (pressure, tensile and shear loads). Normally, the tensile load for "standard" rubber mounts should be avoided, but by using the N type Sebert Rubber Mounts they can be loaded up to 70mm.
Specific characteristics
- Acoustic properties are fantastic, as proven in various TNO tests.
- Our Rubber Mounts can be loaded in all directions (pressure, tensile and sliding loads).
- The ambient temperature can range from -30 ºC to +70ºC.
- Natural rubber is resistant to inorganic acids, bases and salts except for concentrated nitric acid.
- A natural frequency up to 2.5Hz with a travel of 70mm is feasible.
- Static load from 5kg to several tons
- The high energy absorption ensures low loads on machines and foundations. The Rubber Mounts can be confined with captives. This means that in the event of a rupture, the device does not catapult through the room. By placing a protective metal cap on the top, the rubber is protected against external influences such as mineral oils as these could penetrate the natural rubber.
Assembly
The Rubber Mounts can be mounted in all directions. Make sure that the Rubber Mounts are placed symmetrically in relation to the center of gravity. When the Rubber Mounts are mounted under the unit and the center of gravity is relatively high, there is a possibility of lateral results. Additional stabilization on the (top) side may be necessary.
The main advantage of mounting the Rubber Mounts under the unit at an angle of 45 degrees is that the shock and vibration behavior is optimized both horizontally and vertically. Please consider that with a tensile load (below 45 degrees) the force road diagram becomes more progressive.
Use Case
A customer of Sebert Trillingstechniek produces chillers for the Royal Netherlands Navy. There were shock requirements of 260g acceleration with a pseudo-speed of 5.2 m/s and a displacement of 45mm (under the springs). A shock and vibration calculation was carried out to ensure that the chiller still met the very strict marine requirements. The calculation showed that a shock recovery of 9g with a duration of 13ms was possible when a type N Rubber Mount was chosen.
The Test lab performed a drop test of 87mm to prove the calculated shock values. During the drop test the chiller was functional, after the fall test the chiller was still functional and an acceleration of 9g with a duration of 15ms was measured. Therefor the chiller meets the "extreme" requirements of the Royal Netherlands Navy.
The test laboratory carried out a drop test of 87 mm to confirm the calculated impact values. During the drop test the cooler was functional, after the drop test the cooler was still functional and an acceleration of 9 g with a duration of 15 ms was measured. This means that the cooler meets the "extreme" requirements of the Netherlands Navy.
